Safety Requirements

Safety requirements are confirmed by ECAS Certificate and regulated by Federal Law No. (28) of 2001, of the Emirates authority for standardization and metrology, and its amendments.

REGULATORY AGENCY

• Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA)

REGULATIONS

• Under the Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS), registration of regulated products is required.
• ESMA will issue an ECAS Registration Certificate for the product when conformity to the relevant standards is demonstrated.
• Manufacturers may also request for the Emirates Quality Mark
• Printed labels with ECAS mark will be required at the beginning of January 2019 for all certified products.

GUIDELINES

• Assessment, testing and evaluation of products should be conducted by ESMA or its recognised CABs.
• Product sampling is required and must be conducted by ESMA authorised personnel.
