South Africa Market Access for EMC
The following requirements are applicable to electrical and RTTE products to get access to the South African market:

EMC Requirements
The products that contain electronic circuit boards, motors, LED drivers/ rectifiers, commutator motors or oscillator clocks are subject to the mandatory EMC approval. The list of applicable EMC standards is indicated in Government Gazette dd. 22.01.2010 No 32885.
The document confirming the product compliance to the established EMC requirements is the SABS CoC. The CoC validity period is 3 years.
After the CoC is issued, the following SABS Label must be applied to the approved products:

- South African Bureau of Standards (SABS)
REGULATIONS
- EMC compliance is required for the above, where applicable.
- CoC for EMC is required for some equipment.
- The test report should be issued by accredited laboratory, authorised by SABS.
